Week of January 18th

Monday, January 18, 2010
Morning : Jozsef is reading a book. Most of the class is. People are quiet… it scares me. Kamilah is making a poster for Haiti.

Writing : We are now writing. For writing, we’re writing about our holidays. Britny and I are correcting our Holiday Essays.

Math : Today we’re learning about Mean and mode. It’s a bit hard, but in a day or two we’ll probably catch on. We are taking up our answers as a class because it’s tricky. Ms. Lewis is saying a bunch of random numbers. Today we’re learning about Bar Graphing, and we’ll be talking about intervals and range.

Working on our math.

French : French wasn’t easy because we have a supply teacher. He kept yelling at us because some students were loud. He told Ms. Lewis about seven students were behaving, which he pointed out. I’m glad that’s over, now we can move onto Social Studies.

Science : We all have straws on our desk. We have partners and we’re doing Measuring Force. We need a lot of materials!

Today is a fresh day!
Reading : Right now we're learning about How To Summarize! Sounds interesting. The class (including me) don't really understand what Ms. Lewis is saying. But some kids are catching on to it, including me a little bit... Now we're writing about summary using the 3 Little Pigs. Now we're talking about Cinderelly.

Math : Once again we're learning about mean and mode. It's not really easy.

French : We went to french! It's not easy because we had a supply teacher. About 7 students were good, the rest were 50% good. I'm glad it's done, now we can do Social Studies.

Social Studies : We are starting our timelines for famous Canadians. In my group, there is Zainab, Cameron, Alex, Jozsef, and me, Arissa! We just got paper about 185 cm long. That's pretty long.

Working on our time lines.

Reading : We're back! We're talking about the 3 Little Pigs again. We're writing about the story. Now we're doing The Horses of Sable Island. It's not so funny, neither cool, but I have to admit, it's pretty interesting! This is HARD!

Social Studies : We're working on our time lines. We're writing about our famous Canadians.

Updating our agendas and getting ready to go home.
